Types of ingredients;
Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Lindseed Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Corn Oil, Peanut Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Coco Butter Oil, Jojoba Oil, Almond Oil, Milk, Lemon juice, Grapefruit juice, Lime Juice, Lemon Grass juice, Pandan Leave Juice, Aloe Vera Juice, Variety of fragrance, food colourings, Rolled Oat, Wheat germ Oil, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide and water.
Safety gears will be required and under the supervision of person above 18 years of age.
Prepare for the process.
Wear long gloves made of rubber glove and not to use non-rubber gloves. This is to protect your hands being burn while in the process of making organic soap made from these ingredients. Wear a mask and eye protection gear with safety standards indicated before you proceed with the below. No children is allow to be moving around the stove area. Please make sure all windows in these area are open, doors and proper ventilation are in order.
Pot A
Pour the selected oils you would like to make organic soap. Example: - Olive Oil, Palm Oil, Lindseed Oil. Stir them on top of a slow fire stove.
Pot B
Pour gently the coconut milk with 2.5 litres of water. Add Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Chloride (salt). While you are stirring the concoction in the Pot B, you will feel the heat from the pot B. Please make sure the Pot B is place on a stable place and in an open air environment.
MIXED both the ingredients. Pour Pot B into Pot A which is on a stove with a small flow of fire turn on. While you are pouring Pot A into Pot B, please make sure you do not inhale the release air from the Pot A.
Once you have pour all into the Pot A. Continue to stir for about 4 - 6 hours clock wise until you see the foams disappeared/dissolves as you stir. This is the time you can add your fragrance, lime juice or lemon juice. You have to keep stirring. Unless you use a handle stick machine blender, you can save time. You can find trails from the stirrer.
The trails will be an indication you have made to make your organic soap and time to pour the concoction into molds or container you have prepared to mold the soap into.
Leave it for two - three weeks to harden.
Please do ensure all the equipment use are not to be use for cooking or other household food preparation after this. As it may not be good for health reason after organic soap making due to ingredient food reaction.
These are coconut husks and we need to add water to extract the coconut milk out from it. The below is after extract of coconut milk will look like.
What went wrong?
After a few weeks of slow process of waiting period for organic soap to hardened and didn't takes it's form. You find out the soap is still soft, out of shape, not in shape, smell, oily, added colour didn't turn out as it was to be like the original colour, lots of holes, not having the smooth surface, the weight was lighter than expected, not solid, cracked, and so forth.
So what shall you do?
Organic soap are made from fresh ingredient usually. Will have expiry date of each of the items you use to add in. To get an accurate well formed shape organic soap, you will need the organic soap making calculator for the exact formula.
Each ingredient you added in will require another ingredient to be taken out in per portion to the formula.
Quality Test
A friend suggested I double check all my organic soap products. Need a tester to find out the acidity of my soap. However after so many attempt failed as to find out where I can get the disposable tester. The soap tester is to find out the ph level.
I know I have use it to wash both my hands and legs. My organic soap product managed to clean up both my body parts. I decided to use it on my face two weeks ago. Good news, no rash nor acidity harm. No pimples breakout too. The moisture on face was just like normal after cleansing. Except the fragrance I add in wasn't strong enough. As I used food fragrance and aromatherapy oil which didn't cost much.
After two weeks of testing, I am sure the organic soap I made was fine. I still want to improve further. Carrying out research and a lot more reading.
